Roy Sturgill, PE, Greenroads STP
Roy Sturgill has been a research engineer in KTC’s Construction Engineering and Project Management Program since 2011, when he left the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to pursue a PhD. During his time at the Cabinet, Mr. Sturgill worked in construction management and in highway design conducting constructability reviews. Since joining KTC, Mr. Sturgill has become an accomplished researcher and has served as principal Investigator on over a dozen research projects totaling over $1,500,000, including both state and nationally funded projects. Mr. Sturgill is a member of the Transportation Research Board’s Standing Committee on Construction Management, friend to the Information Systems in Construction Management Sub-committee, friend to the Standing Committee on Project Delivery Methods, and a member of the Standing Committee on Utilities. Mr. Sturgill is a licensed Professional Engineer in Kentucky and a GreenRoads STP. He holds a BS in Civil Engineering and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky. He received his Master’s in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech.
