Gary W. Moore
Gary W. Moore has put the families and residents of Boone County first throughout his tenure as Judge/Executive — strategically investing in and bolstering public safety, parks and recreation, land conservation and preservation, and sensible infrastructure improvements.
A lifelong Kentuckian, Judge Moore was called to serve long before he took office. His father, Victor Moore, proudly served as Pendleton County Sheriff. Judge Moore learned early on the power and impact of putting others before yourself and working together for the benefit of the entire community. Today, that dedication continues. With purposeful planning, he has attracted good-paying jobs to the county, secured federal and state investments in its infrastructure, and built a strong community with safe neighborhoods, good schools, and ample parks and recreational opportunities — all while adhering steadfast to the conservative principles of limited
government and fiscal responsibility, resulting in one of the lowest property tax rates in the region. Under his leadership, the county has earned one of the best credit ratings of any city or county government in the Commonwealth.
Judge Moore has held leadership positions in national, state, and regional organizations. He recently completed a term as President of OKI Regional Council of Governments for the Greater Cincinnati region. Judge Moore also serves on the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the Kentucky Association of Counties (KACo) Board of Directors and has served as president of both associations. These roles have given Judge Moore a seat at the table on many issues, including the opioid and mental health crises, workforce issues, and housing availability, among others. More importantly, that experience has provided insight and access to evidence-based best practices and practical knowledge to help address complex issues throughout Boone County.
Judge Moore enjoys serving the residents each day and works hard to make Boone County a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
