Xiaobing Li PhD

Senior Research Scientist

Dr. Xiaobing Li is a senior research scientist working at the Kentucky Transportation Center at UK. His research interest primarily focuses on big data analytics for traffic safety and operations. He has published more than 40 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference proceedings. He is a NCHRP panel member and serves as guest editor and review board member for several renowned journals. He was involved in multiple research projects relating to innovative technology development and safety performance function development and he successfully delivered the results to multiple state and national agencies (i.e., TDOT, GDOT, ALDOT, FDOT, and AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety). Before joining KTC, Dr. Li worked as a postdoctoral research associate at USF and UA, as an ITS traffic engineer intern at TDOT. He received his Ph.D. in transportation engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in May 2018. He also obtained M.S. degrees in Industrial and System Engineering from UTK and Mechanical Engineering from Jiangnan University.
