Dr. Gabriel (Gabe) Dadi is the W.L. Raymond and R.E. Shaver Chair Associate Professor in Construction Engineering and Project Management in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Kentucky. He also holds an appointment as a Research Professor for the Construction Engineering and Project Management Group and Program Manager for the Occupational Safety and Health Group at the Kentucky Transportation Center. His primary research focuses on safety culture and organizational policies and procedures to improve occupational safety. He also frequently studies the practical application and integration of emerging technologies into highway construction and maintenance projects. Dr. Dadi has conducted research on infrastructure, commercial projects, and industrial projects. He has funding from the Kentucky Transportation Center, the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP), the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the Construction Industry Institute (CII).
Dr. Dadi teaches courses on an introduction to construction engineering, construction methodology, construction safety, and building information modeling (BIM). Prior to academia, he worked as a project engineer for a commercial contractor. He holds a BS and a PhD in Civil Engineering and he has a Master’s of Business Administration.
