Rachel Catchings, M.S.C.E., P.E., is currently a research engineer with the University of Kentucky, Kentucky Transportation Center (KTC). Prior to joining KTC, Ms. Catchings spent over 20 years with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC.) She began as a Resident Engineer, managing construction inspectors and engineers over a four-county area with major corridor reconstruction projects. After 10 years, she took this practical construction experience to the District Design Engineer role, where she oversaw project development for a ten-county district and a team of technicians and engineers. She now provides a seasoned practitioner perspective to the research team.
